injury during breeding?

So this is my question has anyone ever thought about a vest made from maybe leather that would protect a female Tegu during breeding or is that just silly. I ask because my Female should be coming out of her slumber soon. This is the first year I will be breeding her. I have seen my male try with her and it looks awful rough. Any thoughts?

I have never thought of that, i wonder how that would even be possible. would have to be thin and light but strong enough to with stand the nails and and stuff.

I asked the local leather guy and he was to busy. Said if I made the pattern he might be able to do it. I was thinking of something with Velcro for adjustment maybe down her belly.

The claws over most of the body are not of any real concern. Where the damage typically comes from is biting of the back of the neck. This is actually not a bad idea, and I think it would be quite easy to do with just a wrap around "strap" with holes for the arms. The only question would be whether you'd want it to fasten over the back or under the belly.
