I just came back from the LA Reptile Supershow and do I have a story for you. One booth had what was labeled "Columbian Tegu" for $250 but upon taking a look at the animal, it sure as hell wasn't Colombian. The lizard was four feet long if it was an inch, looked like it weighed at least 15 pounds, and had jowls wider than tennis balls. Clearly a very large Argentine black and white. I was tempted to point out the error, but I figured they wouldn't believe or listen to me so I didn't. Never thought I'd see an Argentine passed off as a Colombian, but anyone with any knowledge of tegus won't be fooled.
