I wish my first post could be under more positive circumstances, but my buddy called me earlier today and asked me if I could take care of a Tegu that his friend, who is a vet suffering from depression, could no longer care for. Then he sent me a picture. He has a kink at the base of his tail, is obviously underfed, and walks funny on his right foot. I have a vet visit scheduled for this coming Monday, but is there anything additional I should do with regards to food/care since he's so obviously malnourished? I appreciate any help.
