So i bought 3 bags of each mulch for my enclosure. Getting closer to having a new pet lol. I cant wait if you guys are setting up a new cage. Lowes has these bags. All natural 100 percent organic no dye added. Best stuff to get for 4 bucks a bag.

Teguman- I get nervous at having wood chips/ mulch with tegus. Potentially fatal or at least serious consequences from ingesting it. Can happen if for example food scent is present, and the tegu is hungry.

Consider something with much finer grade.

No bags of peat-sphag?

Mix of sand and soil, etc.
Nothing at all. They had top soil but it was with fertilizer in it. If i wanted to travel about 100 miles i could get it. But im not so thats what i got. It will be good for a year then ill change it all over to small chips and mix it with cypress mulch.

Depending on the size of your enclosure ecoearth may be a much better option. It's super cheap on amazon.
My enclosure is 9 ft long 7 ft high and 4 ft wide with a 10 inch lip so yeah no echo earth for me. It eould cost about 150 bucks just for it. Not worth it for me.

Keep your humidity at 60+% and moving air and use astroturf. Put moist sphagnum which will be in small bags at Home Depot/Lowes in hide.
