Hello everyone! I'm Gustavo and I'm new to the reptile hobby but I have done a lot of research and found this forum and joined!. I have 2 reptiles, a baby normal ball python and a juvenile wild caught (by me) Dwarf Tegu (Ameiva) that I caught 4 days ago and she's taming out quite alright. I don't know why, but they are super easy to tame. Mine doesn't mind if put my hand inside the cage but does get squirmy when I try to grab her. I will be posting more info and photos on the Ameiva taming process. :D thanks everyone!!!

He's referring to the ameivas. Not sure their full scientific name, but I remember reading there is no direct relation to tegus. But they do look like dwarf tegus. Seem to be great pets. The blue on his locality is stunning.

Thanks, and the scientific name is Ameiva exsul. There not a Tegu but their part of the teiid family. Their head looks like a tegus and thats why they Call'em Dwarf Tegus. And yes the males when they get big they get a Sky blue belly. There awsome!
