I would wait till tomorrow or the next day to try to feed her ... Just see that she has water and light [heat] and give her some space ...If she is up again tomorrow a pinky mouse would be a good choice dusted with calcium fed dead to your tegu . She may not eat tho ... It would be good to freeze some pinkies for later ...

you breed rats? ewwwwwwwwwww!!! lol

I suspect your Tegu was in hibernation prior to being sent to you... Thus I would attempt to create circumstances that would promote it to go back into hibernation.

That said, I would keep try to keep the tank cool (60~65*F) and offer water. If she doesn't return to hibernation and begins coming out 2~3 days in a row then add UVB and a heat bulb for a few hours per day simulating the heat of the day. At this point (but not until this point) I would offer some food.

My best theory on hibernation is to provide your Tegu with the conditions that allow it to do what it seems to want to do. If your tegu seems to want to sleep all the time, give it the conditions needed to sleep all the time. If it seems to want to be active, give it the conditions it needs to be active.

Congratts on the new Tegu... and I wonder what else you have that you breed rats for...
