I have had him since January. And for the first 2 monthes he was so cool and chill with me. He is now in a 5x4x4 cage i have built for him and now he charges at me i cant even get in the cage to move stuff around before he charges me and tries to bite. Please help me out. All the temps in my cage are perfect so i know its not that.

Mine will do that only when he's hungry. Or when I use a dust pan to get some sticks off the top layer of soil. He doesn't like the brush lol. Try feeding him more.

Sometimes a new enclosure will also cause it, it's just about the same as bringing them home, they need time to settle into a new enclosure. In time he'll be back to normal just keep working with him.

I agree with Bubblz. Give him time to settle into his new home, and to build up a safe trustfull feeling with you. It takes some time.

I do a bit of two approaches:

1. I let him adjust to new surroundings.
2. I don't back down from charges. If that takes gloves or a long sleeved jacket, I use them. But I believe that by backing away from charges, the behavior is reinforced. In the tegu's mind: I don't want that person here.....I'll charge....Hey! he left.....it must work. It's the same concept with dogs and delivery people/mailmen. In the dog's mind, he has chased the intruder away by barking and the behavior is reinforced.
