Hello Everyone. I haven't posted in a long timer now. But I have come to find out my black nose Tegu Mylnor has a skin allergen to all of those bedding and was not shedding due to that. So we took all bedding out and switched to the good ole aspen bedding that we started with before problems occurred ! She is already improving. Burrowing more and now she isn't pushing out the bedding from her hide! Anyone one else had to go thru a skin sensitive Tegu before? please be respectful when replying.

I have never heard of this. Have you tried dirt? How do you keep humidity up with aspen?

An update. Mylnor has been burrowing in the new bedding. which is great since before she would only lay on top of the bedding before and she is no longer pushing all the bedding out of her hide! I am so happy improvement already

Im really curious as to if thats whats up with my red. She has the worst sheds, they just dont come off.... shes in hibernation now but she looks like a shag carpet, just little pieces sticking up all over her body. I literally have to peal piece by piece off. No amount of humidity, soaks, oil rubs, proper diet, nothing has helped... and it seems to be getting worse. She has been on earth gro bark and then peat moss... hmmm....

with my tegu her skin felt like leather. almost like 4 sheds thick.. She wont burrow. would push all the bedding out of her hide and lay on the wood floor with no beding period. I have used tons of products to get her to shed right and nothing. I know if wasnt humidity or poor anything else the other tegus are just fine. Now she is doing ok her skin is beginning to heal
