need help new tegu owner

Hey guys got my new tegu about 5 months ago hes about a foot long when I first got him he was very tame could open his tank with no problem handle him fine now every time I put my hand in he jumps for it once he knows im not food hes ok with it but I want to try and correct this before he gets bigger what am I doing wrong

Some will tell you no some will say yes. It all depends on how you train him. as long as his temperatures are where they should be and you spend enough time with I don't see a problem with it. I feed mine in his enclosure and he's never aggressive towards me

Try feeding in a bin I had the same problem did everything they said and he still did it I switched
To a bin and all gone in a week now he knows that the bin is feed time
