NEW tegu owners

we have a B&W Argentinian Tegu we got from a reptile show here a month back. His temp enclosure is a 6ftx4ftx4ft. I used top soil and have his basking spot at 112-120 and humidity at 80-90. The cool end stays between 75-80. WE don’t know his age but we attempt to feed everyday and he will eat maybe 1-3 bites of ground turkey with calcium on it and boiled eggs to. But stays most of the time either burrowed or trying to burrow. Is this normal.

You might want to lower humidity a little bit.

Soon as you can, switch to primarily who-prey items, such as frozen/thawed rodents of appropriate size. I find that several small is better than one large.

It's easier for them to digest. Also, yeah, I don't think youngsters should be given much ground meats. Whole prey is better for them while growing.

Yes it is super normal during this time of year. They will slow down on eating and sleep alot you also might not even see them for a few days. They will want to hide and sleep. It's a tegu thing. During the summer they will eat like crazy but during winter it will slow down by like 60% of eat maybe more. Some will stop eat for weeks and weeks.
