Hi everyone,
We received our yearling male chacoan Thursday morning. He just came out of hibernation so he's still pretty docile. The breeder advised me to handle him immediately while he is docile before he becomes more active in a few days. The problem is, other then when first put him in his enclosure, he has gone into his hide box and hasn't come out since.
How am I suppose to handle him if he is in his hide box? I could take the lid off his hide box and gently remove him, but I always thought that was a big no no?
So any advice on this situation? Do I remove him from his hide box for an hour or so and let him hang out with me or do I leave him be?
Thanks in advance for any advise!
