Full disclosure-he is a personal friend whose professional approach I fully support and trust.

I have a 1.2 from him that were young adults when I got them a few years back. Now full adults. Hoping for breeding this year. Let them sleep at 58-60F for a few months. Just woke them up.

All three arrived healthy. Two were nippy off and on for the first two weeks until they settled in and saw that I was no threat. The third was gentle from the start. All three are curious and easy to work with. One is nearly affectionate. Another sort of. The male, 44" and 18lbs, is trustworthy and will come over on his own but aloof otherwise.

If I had room for more, I would get them from Rodney. The S. Florida ones are distinctive, often with some shade of firebelly, and with sleek narrow snouts.

I caught up with Rodney two weeks ago while visiting home down there. He was selling plenty of young ones. Trapping begins again now.

They are creatures of routine and habit. For first week or so your tegu will probably hide alot and eat little. Make sure that its hide box is at 75-78F cool end with a sweaty shirt of yous to catch your scent. The temp should grade upwards to basking spot of around 110-115F. A shallow bowl of water always present for drink and humidity of at least 50-60%. No stale air ever. Din't bother him/her for first week. Provide 10hrs of light now and up it to 12 in a few months for summer. If cool, they'll reat on you. Once warm, they wander.

I think he's been selling juveniles for under 200.00? An excellent deal.
