Hi there.

Just came across this forum and couldn't help joining. I've worked with reptiles for many years and have a personal fondness for Tegus. I've kept and rescued Colombians and Argentines. Golds, Black & Whites and Reds. My Red passed away last year due to old age and I haven't had it in me to get a new one yet. I'm sure I'll end up with another one, but hearing from other Tegu people will help for now.

My background in in Biology, and my wife is a Vet Tech. So we always have rescues passing through, in addition to our personal collection. I'd put a full list of what's currently here, but that would take a bit more time than I have to write (or most of you have to read). We also do outreach programs for various local community events with our animals.

Anyway, I'll probably chime in from time to time but just wanted to say hi.

From your screen name, I figure you come across some Gila Monsters. If you do, I would be very interested in a baby.

In the wild I do occasionally, unfortunately they are protected in my state so I can't even keep them with permits. Dr. Seward has some really nice babies though, especially the bandeds.

Dubya there are always some on fauna I love gilas but couldn't NOT handle it

Thank you. I will check it out , but first I will do my homework on Gila care. I always wanted one since I was a kid. I researched care 35 years ago, but I am sure there are many updates. I will not get one unless I can provide a proper home for it.

They are awesome little lizards they tend to tame down really well but are still highly venomous ALSO contrary to what one might think they prefer higher humidity ranges like 60%-70% hence why I only see them in the wild after the rain lol
