In order, I'd say a tegu, then the caiman lizard, then the caiman.
Caiman are more look-don't-touch things as far as I know. Caiman lizards are BEAUTIFUL and the enclosures that are possible could be breathtaking. But I think they're a lot harder to care for than a regular tegu. I say regular tegu because they (to me) are just colorful semi aquatic tegus. I'd love to get one but the aquatic needs are too much for me personally.

Tegu all the way. Don't know much about the other choice but Tegus are generally docile and have good personality. Mine are my best friends.

I would wait and make sure you are going to be able to handle all the new things you have. It seems too impulsive to me. IMO, there should be more thought put into getting an animal. Are you just looking for something with shock value? Last time you asked for advice you went against what everyone else said and seemed to have regretted it. How is your monitor doing?

yea i have a 2011 extreme giant and i have a larger red tegu. i love tegus. just was thinking maybe something a little different. aquatic i can do ver good with a water cage. my hobby used to be fish ans fishtanks. reefs and the such. so im very good wth making breathtaking aquatic displays. i think i might just drive out to the city and buy the 4 foot male extreme though.

Derek did you ever do a planted tank all 3 sides or just a 1 side? If so please post a pic. I look at them online and they are the most whimsical things I've ever seen. A bit off topic.

Tora and rhetoricx have completely covered the gamut of what I might add, so if it helps, I'd just advise that you read and consider both of their posts CAREFULLY. This is no decision to be made lightly.

the monitor is doing great. and thanks for saying that because if i did get that caimen lizard it would be an impule buy and i do not think i can manage a crocodilian lol. i think im jsut going to stick with what i kow inm comfotable with and get the tegu.

Good to hear, I'm glad you're being more responsible. Pics when/if you get the giant!

I think you should just stick with what you have. The ornate is going to be more than enough once full grown.

Personally I would love a caiman, problem is they aren't legal in Nevada.
I am quite a bit older and "established" in my life as well though.

im eamiling the guy right now, it should be about a 1 and a half to 2 hour drive out to NYC. i know i saw a thread on here about people questioning the AD on fauna becausde it is labeled extreme giant black and white. i asked the guy, he was bought from bobby hill as an extreme giant for 350$ so it is in fact an extreme giant im awaiting more pics :)

You can find everything you need from a house building site near where you live... thats a joke dont do it. you can ask for supplies or left over material they arent using or check the big dumpster though. I think its free game.
