Requirements for a Pet Tegu in Richmond VA

Hello everyone i'm new to the forums anyway being a reptile lover i thought its time for me to get a pet tegu but i live in Richmond VA and I've been told you needed a permit for a Pet Tegu i just wanted to see If that is true or not I've been googling it for some time now but couldn't find my answer anyway thanks for your responses and as well it would be much appreciated if i could get informed on all the nessencery requirements for a pet tegu in Richmond va

I live in lynchburg and I don't think there are any restrictions

I don't Think so either but a "brilliant" employee at pet smart told me that

Sometimes its such a you know what to find these stupid laws and ordinances. Then when you do, the wording can be vague rather than specific and open to interpretation. Which always freaks me out.

Welcome to the forum! You can check with your local municipality about their exotic animal laws. Chances are there are no issues but it never hurts to ask - just make sure you don't give any personal information. You're just an inquiring citizen!
