Shipping experience with Tegus (temps @ 40 degrees)

So I'm shipping one of my b&w's to New Orleans this evening from South Carolina. The low for tonight here is around 44 degrees and the low for New Orleans is around 50 degrees. I read where tegus are fine in the 40s for the night but I was planning on including a heat pack just to be safe...any thoughts from those of you with shipping experience?? This is my first colder weather shipping so I want to be sure I'm doing it right. He's being shipped in an appropriate styrofoam insulated box in case you are wondering!

I would say wait to the spring to ship but, I'm not sure if the Styrofoam will keep the animal warm. Usually when I get snakes ship to me, people use shipping by reptile. I could be saying it worry, my apology, but be careful who you choose to ship with, not everyone can guarantee live shipment on arrival..

Glad to report that my B&W male made it safely to New Orleans this morning - climbed right out of the pillow case onto his new owners shoulder! Was a bittersweet experience selling one of my males but it had to be done eventually. Seems to have gone to a good home that will spend a ton of time with him and wants to use him for educational programs once he's settled in and comfortable.
