the bathroom is about the only place I can put him by himself without him being able to get out. Now he has figured out how to open the sink doors and hide inside there.

I feed him twice a day and sometimes he tries to go to bed early so I wake him back up because I want him on my schedule not his own lol. Last night I was slowly rubbing my fingers back and forth across the surface of the substrate till I reached is back and he jumped out like Jaws and grabbed my finger but not and angry bite. He was pretty cranky last night although normally he has no problem with me waking him up. Today he seemed pretty interested in my fingers and gave it a nibble. Kind of concerns me because he's never done anything like that before.

Getting him on your schedule rather than his own is more than likely going to end with a grumpy tegu that is stressed or wont bond well with you. Its the time of year for him to slow down and sleep more, thats what his natural instincts are telling him to do, constantly waking him up isnt good. Feeding twice a day is a bit much too.

He normally doesnt eat his filling earlier in the day so at nite ill give him 25 crickets or so calcium dusted real nice. Going to black out my livingroom with some nice curtains and set his a.m. to start around noon or one. This is florida anything should go lol

first meal is usually live prey once every 3 days and on those other days normally hearts and gizzards or boiled egg. Haven't really gone to the store to expand his meal plan. Today he ate two mice and he's rather larthagic lol. he will eat ground turkey but not much of it I don't think he likes it.

Ive given up trying to get my tegu on my schedule. When mine wasnt getting the sleep he needed he started acting really sporadic and completely unlike himself. And as for the biting thing, when my tegu looks like hes going to bite my fingers i stick them right up in his face for him to taste/smell. Depending on what i have on my fingers he might give a really light test bite but hes never broken the skin. Ive been doing that for close to 2 weeks now and its apparent hes learning that my fingers are not food since when i put my hand in his tank he doesnt get excited like he used to and come running over unless i start wiggling my fingers like worms. Which i like to do so he learns that not everything that moves is food.

You can't control their cycles...blacking out your room will do nothing. They respond to barometric changes in the atmosphere as well as light cycle changes.
