Starting roach colony help

Looking to start a Dubai roach colony for a hatchling tegu I plan on getting. I think I will buy from http://www.dubideli.com/Store.html because there prices seem to be the best. Has anyone used them before? Also I was wondering what size would be best to buy for feeding in a week or two and for them to start breeding fairly soon. Looking to spend around $60.

You probably won't get much started for $60. I bred them for a year. A good friend of mine breeds them on a VERY large scale. I believe he offers various size starter colonies.

Look him up on Facebook-MassDragonz. Tell him Cory F. sent you, he'll take care of you. His prices will beat any website, since he does it as a side hobby to feed his dragons.

You may want to buy extra to feed for the first couple weeks. You won't notice babies for almost a month, unless the females arrive pregnant.

Make sure they have an ambient temp of around 80-85*, and through either heat tape or a ceramic heat emitter. Infrared lights are no good. Also make sure to keep a fresh supply of roach chow and water gel in there. An orange cut into 4 pieces once a week and you'll be all set.

I'd recommend about 20-30 females, 5-7 males, and a few hundred mixed nymphs. Adult males CAN "fly". I use fly lightly as they don't really gain any altitude, but they Def can flutter a good distance. I've witnessed it several times.

You can also search for Kyle Hollingsworth on FB from Salinas, Ca. He does it on the side too and I was getting 500 mixed sizes with a great overcount for $40 shipped.
