Hey guys. I was wondering if you can hibernate your tegu is summer. Is it possible? Also, how long should his hibernation be? Thx!

Why do you want to hibernate your tegu in the summer? I suppose you could do it by manipulating the temps and light cycles but I'd bet it's going to be pretty difficult and may really screw up your tegu's internal clock...

I was just wondering because I travel a lot in the summer and it would be easier for someone to check him daily than feed him, play with him, etc.

I'd say it's possible depending on where you live but I don't know how advisable it is... :-/

If you cool the temperatures enough will tegus go into hibernation?
