tegu wont come out

I just got him last Tuesday i just wanted to know if and when i should start to see him roaming around he does not bask. Or anything. All my temps and humidity are perfect. All he does is find a hole to burrow in and will not come out.

Send details of cage, temps, humidity, etc. He might just need time to settle in.

You just got him it takes them some time to get used to new enclosures.

Hello.. Relax thisis all very normal for a new tegu in a new home. He is scared and is getting relaxed before exploring his new home and new owner! Some Tegus can take up to a wk before really roaming and basking. Just make sure your temps are good and humidity levels! All should be ok

Other than the fact he is new to you and could just be acclimating, they also hibernate.

Should i be worried after a week? He has ate 1 mouse and it was a fuzzy. Thats it. I've offered everyday

No you shouldn't be worried. Do a little searching on the forum, hibernation threads and a lot of the general tegu threads are about this exact issue. Just read a little bit I it will ease your mind.
