what type of tegu should i get i like da reds and da black n whites the extremes are gorgeous. But mom wants a tame lizard not over 4.5ft so dat norrows it down to red or black-n-white

If you're more into the reds then get a red! Ideally its going to be with you for a long time, IMO its better to spend the extra 100 on something you REALLY want rather than settle for something "that'll do".

If you've taken plenty of time to research, have an appropriate enclosure, and can provide the little bit of extra fruit that Reds need in their diet, then I'd say go for the Red.

I'd say get the extreme if you want the extreme, by the time it gets over 4.5 feet (if ever), you can convince her.

Yeah...I'm not sure that there's much of a difference by the time you're making decisions between 4.5 feet and 5 feet--either way, you've got a big ol' lizard!
