what species of Colombian do I have?

hey all. I'm new to tegus,but have almost 30 yrs herp experience, so I'm not a rookie or anything. I got 2 tegus in on a trade,and decided to keep one. I was told that they were Colombian B&Ws, but want a second opinion.
the tegu in question is the one that's got the yellowish banding,instead of the white.
I'll try to take better pics when I get home. the tegu is a little over 28",including the tail...roughly how old is it?

Both are Colombian tegus. I have Argentines so I am unsure of the ages.

both of those are Tupinambis teguixin (colombian) colombians come in two color varieties. black and white and gold. the b.w. Yours is still a b/w even with the gold banding as golds are much more gold than yours. age is hard to determine since they grow at all different rates and because of them being imports

thanks,thats what I thought. I'm pleasantly suprised by it's general demeanor,I was under the assumption that Colombians had the same general attitude as a Nile monitor,but this lizard is as calm as my gargoyle geckos. It's pretty cool, I can just reach in and scoop it up. no tail whipping,hissing,trying to bite,peeing,etc.

Yes unfortunately there is that bad reputation floating around about colombians but its simply not true. Many people are finding that out once they give them a chance.
