Whats Your Favorite Thing About Tegus?

So sense we all love tegus for one reason or anther, i have a question or two, whats your favorite thing about them? and what makes them such a amazing rewarding pet?

I love hearing the sound of Tonka's feet hitting the floor when he is exploring , I love it when he wakes up in the morning and his head peeks out fromunder the mulch, I aso love it when he lets me pick him up and give me a hug and he nuzzles on my neck and licks all over my face even on my worst days he brings a smile to my face

I dont own one yet but the things that attracted me to them are:
color and pattern
size
and their temperament. LOVE the fact that the can be puppy dog tame!

ya thats kind of the same for me to be honest, I love how they give you an idea of what someo f the very first reptiles possibly looked like, but i also love how they easy to train and their temperments usually. and the colors mixed in with the patters are beautiful. like for me the red with black stripes on the back or even the black and whites have beautiful patterns. the entire tegu is marvelous reptilian design. but i love Iguanas as well. ive never had problems with Iguanas either but oddly im more drawn to tegus for some reason.

what type of tegu do you think i should get? or if i get a Iguana what type of Iguana?

Well, I would get a tegu from Varnyard, of course. My preference would a B/W or a giant, but that's just my choice. If it were an iguana, I would get a rhino and not a green. The greens are awesome and cheap, but they can be hard to keep. Mine is a brat and not as much fun as I had hoped. But I think I would get a tegu before an iguana of any sort.

For me its a combination, personality, curiosity, intelligence and they have a certain appeal. I out of owning 7 tegus 6 Argentine and 1 columbian, i only had trouble getting one to calm down, they are just so mellow, i love having a large lizard Thats not charging at me trying to draw blood, i was sold on my first Argentine Nero, even my columbian was mellow

I have two B/W tegus and I just think they have awesome temperaments. The one I have from Varnyard is gorgeous and has quite a character. I like her sleek look and the fact she she seems to trust me implicitly. I can take her outisde, in the car, mess around in her cage, and she is very tolerant. The other is not a Varnyard tegu. She is quite tame outisde of the enclosure but will eat you alive if you so much as crack her door open a hair. And I pity the person who touches her mulch. She'll bolt out of a dead sleep to grab your hand. But she travels with my to library shows and kids' parties. She is so beautiful, too, and tame in her own right. So I just think they are visually appealing and docile.
