Nice looking setup. And it seems Rex wants to get into the business of printer repair.

How to transition from crickets to ground turkey? / How to discourage jumping?

I about 3 weeks ago got a bundle of Reptilinks. She is to small to eat the links themselves, so I have to use the mix inside them and make little meatballs out of them. She ate them on the first day, and then never since. Its been almost 2 weeks now and she wont eat the meatball mix. If I...

    Solar Glo VS PowerSun

Very old thread, but what was the UV test result of the Solar Glow and the PowerSun 160W bulbs? I ask because Im actually using both bulbs (the store only had 1 each in stock) with the ZooMed dual light fixture. I was asking about basking temps, and someone replied that using two MVB bulbs was...

    Young Tegu Worries, Need Help

Mini update, after basking this morning she let out a huge poop. Its so weird to be so happy about poop. It was solid but not dried out, and came with a bunch of pee. It didnt look like she had to strain at all. Was also the same consistency as when she was on a cricket diet. So maybe she...

    Young Tegu Worries, Need Help

My beautiful little gal. She was so green when I got her, and now shes more b/w. She loves to hang out with me in my bed, under the sheets. The other picture is her poking her head out in the morning after the lights come on. The rock is supported so she cant squish herself. Shes so smart...

    Young Tegu Worries, Need Help

Hello, this is about my 3 month old b/w tegu Angy. I have a bunch of worries that I could use some advice for. Setup: 40 gallon cage, (soon to be upgraded to something much bigger), topsoil/play sand/peat moss substrate mix, basking temps 90-110f depending on time of day and spot on the rock...

Please help! Tegu hurting nose on enclosure top

Did you ever come up with a solution? My little 3 month old guy is doing the same exact thing. Jumping at her light bulb and hitting the screen top. Shes even injured her nose doing it constantly.

How to transition from crickets to ground turkey? / How to discourage jumping?

She is about 1.5 months old. She is currently in a 40 gallon tank that does have front opening doors, that I just got last week. She still only goes after crickets, and eats about 20 large ones a day. She has gigantic poops every day. She still jumps, and Im worried about her hurting...

    Tail Amputation after care

I hope everything goes ok for your little guy. It sounds like you take good care of him, so it might be an infection or the born with it part. Blankets, paper towels, or newspaper I think can be fine, but Im no expert. My guy used to love burrowing under pillows and blankets.

How to transition from crickets to ground turkey? / How to discourage jumping?

Update: Didnt feed her for 2 days, and tried to give her more round turkey, but she would not eat it. Then I made some cricket meatballs, stuffing crickets halfway into a ball of ground turkey (which was gross), in the hopes she would eat the ball. But she just dug and plucked the crickets...

How to transition from crickets to ground turkey? / How to discourage jumping?

Hello. My little guy is doing good so far. Shes been eating crickets the past 2 weeks, and its getting super expensive. She eats like a ravenous monster, eating about 20 crickets a day. I feel it may be wise to move on to something else, but she doesnt show any interest in other foods. I...

What is Normal Baby Tegu Shedding?

lol well I just fed her this morning, and she still gobbles down the large crickets. They are definitely longer then the space between her eyes. She will grab one and munch on it, squishing it, and then swallow. They are practically bigger then her head.

What is Normal Baby Tegu Shedding?

Ok thanks. I do dust her crickets with both a vitamin and calcium dust. I just got a box of 500 crickets in the mail, and they are kinda big. I ordered 3/4" but these look more like 1.25". Is it safe to feed my baby large crickets?

What is Normal Baby Tegu Shedding?

I just have a few questions about how a baby tegu sheds. My little guy has started her first shed, and its almost all done except for her hands and feet and the tip of her tail. She spends a lot of time digging and dragging her arms and legs across the ground. She started by dragging her...
