When you see something you want to check out what do you do. You pick it up, look at it and maybe taste it. Not think about your dog. What does he do? He smells it and uses his hand, aka his mouth, to feel it and taste it. So how does your Tegu check...
Off topic, but I haven't made the decision to aquire one yet, what is the age difference between the two in the tub? Other than the length the difference in girth is amazing.
So I do not yet have a Tegu so this is an off-the-cuff thought.
Can you clicker train a Tegu like other animals so that the click is associated with food? So you click you feed. They do something you want you click and give food reward etc?
First I don't own a Tegu yet. I'm still doing my research/planning.
Do you schedule your lights to just come on in the morning or do you stage them, such as having your basking light come on at 0700 then a second one later and maybe a third at noon then off one at a time to create a day/night...
