    Taking tegus outside

I bring my Tegu out occasionally because she allows it and doesn't seem to stress her out. Now my roommates iguanas are different stories. I would not bring them out in public. It just depends on the animal.

Here are some pictures of her I took today. I had her out for some natural sunlight and socializing.

    '11 AA Female

No, she has not been examined. I treated her as if she had MBD and it seemed to correct itself very quickly. I honestly trust my own instincts over the exotic animal vet in this area. He's great for small animals, but thats all I trust him with. Very hard to find a great reptile vet.

    Tortoise

That's definitely not a slider. if it were, i'd argue that it could potentially live in a frozen pond outside. Red-ears and yellow bellies overwinter just fine in some parts of Canada, though they are native to the midwest/south US and South America. That is a cooter. It really doesn't matter...

    '11 AA Female

I can't bring myself to charge an awful lot, because of the issues she had when I acquired her, but I am going to be picky about who she goes to. This is the only tegu I've met that was tame and CALM as a hatchling. I didn't even have to work on taming.... But I think her growth rate and...

    '11 AA Female

With much difficulty, I am putting up my girl for sale. She is a '11 varnyard AA. When I initially received her, she had an arch in her upper spine and difficulty with her back legs. After a few weeks, she showed no visible signs or setbacks because of it. She has been calm since day 1 and has...

    R.I.P Zeus

I give my tegu a bath about 3 times a week....I'm not sure when bathing your tegu became a nono. She is pretty much trained to poo in the tub.

Extreme Giant Seizure, front legs paralyzed!!!

That is a super tiny cage, but husbandry issues aside, I do have a '11 AA that has a spine issue that affected the back legs. It's a Varnyard. He had just the smallest little bump on his upper spine and with time and a lot of good supplementation, he recovered in about a week. Still a bit...
