i use newspaper for my blood, have no problems with humidity/ temps and its really easy to keep his cage clean because they do urinate a lot and it smells terrible. i got mine in a under bed storage container with 2 heating pads under it, works perfect
its a powersun, does not look swollen or infected at all, just keeps tearing up, hes had the same UVB brand/ bulb almost his entire life, it just seems really odd
yeah that why i dont think its an upper respiratory infection, and its just the one eye. maybe something got in it? i was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or new what the problem might be

savs would be a great starter jus make sure they are c.b. if you put in the time a lizard can make a great pet. its tameness and willing to be handled will all depend on the time youre willing to put in. good luck
yeah mine looks identical in size to yours from what i can tell, their size can be deceiving, mines 4ft and i also got him in august 2008. anyways that's an awesome tegu, congrats
yeah i got a blood python and they love tight small areas, they dont move much, but yeah i still take him out everyday, i cant imagine a rack would be good for a lizard thou. most snakes like cramped cages, and almost everyone i know uses tubs for their snakes for the reason listed in above posts
