    It should be about right for your 40 breeder ... I would guess about a foot from your basking rock but you will have to adjust it for temperature...

    I`ve heard bad things about colored bulbs couldn`t tell you if it was true or not ... For extra light without extra heat I use a fancy but relativity cheep florescent screw in . Tho you should stay away from the small tube bulbs this one has a glass bulb over it and it looks like a Mercury...

    You keep them on wire ... Under the cages is a plywood box . In the box are regular garden worms ... Evey six months or so you take the worm castings and put them in the garden .... The biggest thing about rabbits is you have to take them a small drink of water twice a day in the winter ..
