Hy, i've just read this care sheet: http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/forums/lizard-care-sheets/977550-blue-tegu-care-sheet.html where is written: "Tegu is not an Argentinian Black and White Tegu.
There is no need whatsoever to hibernate a Blue Tegu even if you hope to breed them"
Is it true ?
Did anyone thought about a climbing tree for tegu ? Ive noticed that my tegu often likes to reach high places. He often try to climb on things, sometimes the sofa, where he place himself on the headboard, sometimes on other furnitures. Probably is the instinct of reaching a high place where in...
Exactly. There is also the spring/summer version:

Lets be explicit, tegus love to climb and smell armpits (?).
You have to be assure that the temperature in the room is not cold. You just need to put a fiew lamps just outsdide the terrarium, sit down on the floor, with a cover under your butt and your back on the sofa with a cushion, a cover over your legs and point the lamps to your legs. Then turn off...
That is the same doubt i had. Coult it possible be (closing eyes) a form of defense ? A form of showing extreme stress ? Many reptiles behave this way when they are under stress. Why tegus should be different ? How can we tell it ?
Still on sale after monthes and with the same photograph ? http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=115&de=798049
I wonder how they are now, or even if they really exist :dodgy:
It's a nice solution but not practical. The tegu will get out in a second (dont need a ramp), also what will you do in the winter ? How are you going to keep heat and humidity ?
It's nice, but it's nothing more than a bed with a heater. It's more simple tu buy a dog bed and to fill it with a heat mat. The real problem is the heat dissipation in the winter.
This is what i mean. A cage that has the door just in front of the enclosure.
The tegu can choose between stayng in the enclosure and hiding himself or roaming out and having some direct sunlight. He will probably chose to do both of them in different hours of the day. Obviously this could be...
