Blue tegus and hibernation

Hy, i've just read this care sheet: http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/forums/lizard-care-sheets/977550-blue-tegu-care-sheet.html where is written: "Tegu is not an Argentinian Black and White Tegu.
There is no need whatsoever to hibernate a Blue Tegu even if you hope to breed them"
Is it true ?

All three of my blues are down this year. Some years they do and sometimes they don't, just like reds and black and whites.
