150 gallon reptile tank, 90 gallon fish/reptile tank, and wo

Heres my old enclosure for the tegu, up for sale. Obviously this is pickup only, as it weighs like 9 million pounds. I never used the 90, but I'm told it holds water just fine. It has no glass tops or anything, just the tank itself. The 150 has a crack on the bottom right side, but is perfect...

    UVB in the tegu pen

Holy crap I've never seen a UVB bulb that projects that far. I'm not sure how a 160 watt bulb can do that. I have a 160 watt solar glow that is comparible to the normal 160 watt zoo meds. Minimum distance 18 inches, max 24 inches. How the heck to do they make a bulb with the same wattage...

    sexing/spurs

Right, but I'm asking about the tegu. This doesnt seem to be the case with tegus, as we have had many members' tegus go down for hibernation in enclosures that are over 80 degrees. I would prefer my tegu does not hibernate, and initially when he went down for a week, I woke him up on about day...

Suggested wood and/seal for an enclosure.

Do you guys think the ceiling needs the stuff as well? Is the stuff going to stand up to having light fixtures or track lights screwed up into it? There will be plywood behind it to hold the weight, but I'm just wondering if this stuff will just crack or what? What about the floor? The...

Taming the beats! Very interesting domestication article

Read! Discuss! I'd love to hear Bobby's input on this. It seems to be exactly what he's been doing over the last couple generations. I find it very interesting that as the species is domesticated, they start to undergo physical changes, like different patterns, wider skulls, ect. I'm...
