Do you mean while it is in its hide?? Some people take them out in the a.m while they are still cool to get them used to being handled without them freaking out.
You better find a home outside of FL. fast! They are highly, publicly illegal there!! If you feel on both sides of vent, if you feel a small lump (like a BB on both sides, it's male. Not to young!
I mix raw egg into my Tegu's mash. But sometimes I will put the whites In the microwave until just slightly white & raw yolk with shells crushed in with it
She has figured out that YOU are the ticket OUT of her enclosure! They are extremely smart! Try putting her food in her enclosure after you let her see & smell it. Tap on the dish every time you feed her, no tapping, no food. She will pick this up very quickly! Tong feeding is a great way...
I would say that either it is hungry or maybe you smelled like something you cooked. Or maybe she considers the room her territory now. Either way, she should be in her enclosure if you are not watching her.
This mixture with topsoil is 1/3 top soil, 1/3 play sand & 1/3 peat moss to help hold the moisture. I still find coconut chips & core to be much cleaner & is what alot of large breeders use.
Blk dragons like to climb so an upright enclosure works well to add limbs to clime on, they also need a large bin of water where they do love water.125-140*F for basking 85F ambient with a slight drop at night.
You may also consider 2 females for 1 male. Otherwise the male during breeding season will hound the female to death. After confirmed locking a couple times you may want to put the male in a separate enclosure & be sure to watch for locking. It can get pretty aggressive!
