Lately my tegu hasn't been basking as much as he used to. Should I be feeding him still or? I'd say he doesn't eat as much either. I just gave him a plate of Turkey and tilapia and he had one bite of Turkey then stopped. Usually don't bask after he eats also.. Could it be brumation? He comes out...
Lol idk what your feeding your tegu but they don't NEED fruit, they NEED meat. Almost all tegu owners feed their tegu ground turkey, for some it's a staple diet. I feed my tegu turkey about 3-4 times a week and organ meats or rodent the rest of the week. I don't really offer fruit that much either.
Hello, I was about to buy a roll of ground turkey for my tegu and noticed it said it had some rosemary extract in it. Is it harmful to them? Or is it ok because it's a natural herb?
Thanks!
Hello, should I be worried that my tegu will eat bust only basks for like 10 mins after? I just fed him about 20 roaches and he basked for about 10 mins and went to burrow and sleep. He is about 6 months old.
I use the pedipaws on mine! I just file the sharp tip and it's good! I don't like clippers because I'm scared I'll cut too far and they are still sharp after you cut them.
He seems fine I think, he's not as active as he used to be though but I'm thinking the colder weather is the cause of that because my room gets colder at night. I basically have to wake him up and make him bask at about 1 and he goes back to sleep around 4.
How can I get my tegu to poop? Since his last poo he has eaten 3 pinkies and about 20 roaches. I give him a warm bath everyday and his basking spot is about 130 and it's a 160 watt powersun. He's passed urates... Oh and he's about 4 1/2 months old.
