I am going to re-iterate what what said above and say it depends on the support. I would also suggest that if you are going to raise it off the ground a few inches, just put it on caster wheels. This will make it very easy to move around (if you ever do move it)

I personally went with the break apart method and it seemed to work out just fine. I used deck screws to hold it all together, with counter sunk (so the screw head is flush with the wood) holes. With the screws, you can take them out and put them back in as needed and they generally will hold...

I just built a new enclosure for my B&W and put him in it, he has multiple hiding spots, including his old favorite one (a plate I put in his old enclosure as a basking spot) and has been in the new enclosure for around 4-5 hours and has not stopped roaming around and looking like he wants out...
