That basking temp is too low, thats probably the reason why he's so mellow.
Bump it up to 120-130. Otherwise, he looks and sounds like a great lizard! Those pictures are adorable!
I use paper towel. When I try to scope out any droppings, there's always debri left behind. My beardie also got sand in his mouth one time when he ran for a cricket. Not fun.
For me, paper towel is easier and safe.
I love tennis. I play tennis everyday with my father, on the tennis team, in private lessons, or during a competition course. (I got to see the U.S Open since the courts are literally 40 minutes away from my house!) I also run, but thats mostly for fitness purposes. Occasionally I do archery...
I love the episode when he approaches a wild bearded dragon and it bites him on the nose. :D I really miss that guy, he did a lot of great things that many people cannot amount to in one life-time.
In the future I plan to get an argentine b/w tegu, red/yellow ackies, a savannah monitor, a blackthroat monitor and a tortoise. When I go to the LI reptile expo next month, I plan to either get a tortoise or a b/w tegu if my parents give me permission to.
It says that it contains no toxins and its safe for pets and children, so that'd be a yes. Its a repellent though, so it won't really 100% get rid of the problem. If you're looking for a really cheap way to get rid of gnats, try this contraption...
I've been reading around and their husbandry is pretty difficult. I'd prefer to either take the turtle or give him away to a better owner, but I'm not comfortable with selling him locally and I'm pretty sure you can't ship them. I'm buying some things for the turtle in the following days, so...
About 8 years ago my aunt's friend tried to throw a baby turtle away in the trash. (Nuts right?) She saved it, but from what I've seen, his cage conditions right now aren't good. The lil' guy went from about an inch in shell diameter to about roughly 4-5". He's kept in a pretty tall/large...
That's not good either, because your future beardie could harm her if it tries to assert dominance over her. I'm just wondering why you're looking to house them together? They do not need a "friend", nor do they care for one, so what's the point? I'd just sell the tank, then buy two big ones...
I'd suggest getting a bearded dragon. I got one when I was twelve and I still love him and all of his quirkiness. They never fail to amaze you and make you laugh. Like everyone else said, you can sell the deposit. Someone will probably buy it within that week.
Yeesh, are you sure he isn't a hybrid alligator of some sort? My adult beardie bit me when I tried to give him a bath while he was shedding, and it didn't even break the skin.
I sometimes have the same problem with my beardie. He likes to act up once in a while. I highly suggest you hand feed your beardie. Also, make a beardie safe room in your house and let him run around while you go on the computer/read. That's what I do with my lizard, and eventually he'll...
