Accidental excretion Training?

Hi
I have noticed something rather strange in my Tegu Attila the last few days. Whenever I let him roam the house he seeks out an area (rug or couch) that has been previously sprayed with febreze pet odor eliminator and within seconds of being on it starts to poop. Now on the one hand it is a bit frustrating since it is a PET ODOR ELIMINATOR (that we use for dog "accidents" ) :D but I'm wondering if I can somehow use to potty train him?

Many people have trained their tegus to us a litter box to help with this issue. Using a tub of warm water works to get tegus to poop and then let them free roam. I use unscented cat litter and have Bosco pretty well trained at it. As for using the Febreze as a training aid, I cannot say. I don't have the label in front of me and there could be something unsafe for reptiles in it as its formulated for dogs and cats.

More than likely he's probably still picking up the scent from where it was marked before. Just because we can't smell it since the febreze covers it doesn't mean that they can't. Their olfactory organs are way better than ours. But to test that out try it on something or some where, even the litter box that Chelvis mentioned, that has not been soiled and see what happens.
