Hi all, I have a roughly 1 year old female red tegu. I saw that people say that once they are a year old they should be on rats. 2 questions. 1, are frozen ones ok? 2, how often should I feed her/how many? Should I just wait until her belly wrinkles are gone? She used to be on crickets and loves them, should I mix the two into her diet? Thank you all so much.

Hi and welcome! Hopefully I can answer your questions!

1. Frozen rats are great or large frozen mice. Taking your question at face value of course you want to have a dedicate thawing bucket. Then feed once thawed out.

2. You should feed her until she signals to you she is done! This is usually a wiping of the mouth gesture. Both my male and female will literally show no interest in eating at all when full.

* Feed yearlings every other day
