Can someone give me a list of approved meat to feed tegus? and also if they should be served raw or cooked (although im pretty sure you serve most meats raw)
Ground Turkey-Raw
Chicken Gizzards
Chicken hearts
Chicken liver
Chicken Breast
Tilapia<<<<<mine love this!
Shrimp (remove the hard shell)
Scrambled egg (no seasoning)
Boiled egg (let it cool off, no seasoning)
Thats all I can think of for now, I saw a list on this site somewhere I'm sure someone will link it for you soon.
Here's a link to the actual list:

I mean, not really, to get my gu to eat some veggies and fruits, I sometimes put them in a small bowl with egg yoke all over them. So egg yoke is raw, its just to messy to let them crack the egg open and let them lick it. Plus its not SOLID food. I think people cook it just to make it solid. But remeber the staple should always be whole prey, rodents, insects, etc. Im sure you already know.
Here is my feeding schedule:
Monday-Ground turkey with Fruit hidden inside
Tuesday-Tilapia or Shrimp
Wednesday-Crawler Mice
Thursday-Crickets or Superworms
Friday-Crawler Mice
lol. thank you so much king. you've been a very big help. ive been looking for someone to give me feeding examples like this but couldnt seem to find any. now how old/big of a tegu did you use this feeding schedule on? and yes ill keep it a secret =X lol
No problem Bro! My gus are only 3 months now, but they eat well. I had a 3 yr old gu, that I had on this feeding schedule and it did good for him. I gave him up, because I moved and didn't think I would have the space to keep him, but months later after furniture and everything is in place, there was actually space.....Sucks big time. Im starting all over again.
oh im sorry you had to do that. i know so gus actually do form bonds with their owners and it would suck to have to give one up. i think thats awesome that you decided to get some more though
I tell you bro, I tried owning Blood Pythons, Carpet Pythons, to suppliment for the loss. But their isn't another reptile that anyone can bond with like a gu. Never again will I give them up, I could be homeless bro, never again.
thats awesome. i actually do own i blood python right now lol.hes pretty cool and stuff but he does lack that lizard bond thing. i plan on building a 4x2x2 for the hatchling/juvenile tegu and then moving him into a 6x3x3 and the blood into the 4x2x2
i have fed mine tuna hot dogs chicken and turkey lunch meat. " cold cuts" and frogs caught live fed dead.. and pinkies dead thawed.. all with calcium and vitamin suplements, eggs scrambled and semi raw. ham. olives... assorted table scraps. pork chop etc... he is fine and healthy..
