Draco was born June 28 09 from Roy and Purdy . We got him he was a great little guy but he wouldnt eat reguarly like maybe every other day if we were lucky we tried everything he didnt want to eat right and i dont think he grew much at all he looked underweight but we offered him everything possible checked his cage for temp humidity his light was what Bobby told us to get, everything was right. Then he went into hibernation what I thought was early (Oct) especially being so small. I was really worried he wouldnt pull thru. Well then he decided to come out of hiberntaion early 2 wks ago Jan 7th and ever since then he is a totally diff tegu HE EATS ALL THE TIME lol, he has shed 3 times in 2 wks of comeing out and im pretty sure he has almost tripled in size. He gets rat pups, Turkey, eggs and some other things. He would eat day and night if i let him im sure. And he has finally started to get some color to him. We havnt changed anything in his tank so im not sure what did it for him lol. He has just shed in these pics and his neck is changing colors he still had a little on his tail but his sheds are really nice mostly 1 piece. He may still be a little smaller than some but i think he will catch up soon.

LOL thats a tegu for you. Alot of little tegus when they go into hibernation won't eat and they do look so small going into hibernation. But once them come out they do make up for it. Hopefuly you already have plans for his next enclouser becuase it won't be long now before he'll need it.

His a very pretty tegu by the way. Cant wait to see adult pics.

Ya i cant wait until he finishes getting his color in and we are looking at diff cages to build him for his final home so its big enough, yet still warm and humid enough lol.

Ya he is in our house and it stays warm in here + light and undertank reptile heating pad we have a thermometer that tells us the hot side cold side temps and the humidity got it at walmart was like $12 great buy lol. Also wasted like $50 on a temp gun but its fun to play with lol.

I would get rid of the undertank heat and just use overhead heat because tegus sometimes dig to escape heat. I used one before ,but it was in a large cage and it was a small heat mat.
