"Chaco False Tegu?"

[Blue Crab of PAIN!!!]

I encountered this little ameiva/whiptail teiid at my local petstore about 6 months ago.

Two weeks ago I visited again over break and he was still there for $40. I'm considering buying him when I return home again in a week. Can any of you identify what species this little guy may be?

the pet store i work at had 1 for abt a week before it got out when we were feeding it. it was never found. they are fast little guys. i cant tell you much abt them other we called it a false tegu as well.

It looks like a common ameiva found from s. Mexico to Uruguay.
