Chances of a tegu growing out of a birth defect?

As you may or may not know, a while ago I noticed a 'scab' on my tegu's 'lip'. Well, turns out it was just dirt packed in a dip in his lip. What are the chances of this fixing itself as he gets bigger? It's not too huge, like his mouth is fully developed and all, just the scales on one side don't meet up with the top of his jaw. I'm just worried about if he gets big and keeps the problem, I don't want it being an issue.

Diego used to have a bump on his jaw under one of his eyes. I was so concerned about it that I took him to the vet. Oddly enough, over this summer, with the chicken necks, eggs, etc. diet, the bump completely disappeared. There is no sign of it and I'm pretty sure it was a result of a bone deformity, not an abscess. Just make sure your Tegu is getting enough calcium and phosphate.

It should look a little better after each shed as long as the problem is truly fixed.

Yeah he's got everything, and he's just a baby. When I got him from bobby he had it too. I think it's just a defect and not anything else.
