cleaning natural additives for enclosure

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the proper way to clean a branch or rocks that I find outside. My tegu is growing rapidly and a few basking things I had previously bought are now too small, though he still loves 'em! I know branches should be baked at a certain temp but thats all I know...
I figure for the time being it would be easier to use things I have laying around instead of paying retail prices (which are waaaay jacked up anyway).

Its bake at two hundred and fifty degrees. Bigger the thing the longer to bake it ..

I've heard the same thing. Bake at 250*, for 15 to 20 minutes. I also like to soak my stuff in scalding water for a while, then bake it.

I have baked every thing At 350 for 30min and nothing caught fire. You can actually see bugs melting off. The rocks I boiled for 15 min.
