it's almost time to complete my cage, just a few questions to help me out on this. 1 would be where would be the best place stick the sensors for my thermostat? Basking spot would be on the far left of the cage and the heat emitter is about 8 inches to the right of center mass of the enclosure.

Also this is the vent im going to use, I bought 2 but I believe that would let too much heat and humitiy out.

If someone has a better idea for a vent im open to suggestions. Im curious as to where would be the best place to place my one vent?

I don't have vents in a few of my cages, noticed a tad bit of mold growth and so I just screwed a few holes in it with the drill to let out minimal air and its been great since then. Whatever you choose, have the vents low that way heat wont escape as easily. and good thing about the ones you have is that you can open and close them.

But them a couple inches off the substrate on the closest wall to the basking light. You might also want to pick up a laser temp gauge if you can to get exact temps for the basking spot and the ambient temps

I'm not sure if putting the sensors on the hot side is the greatest idea.it would throw off the ambient temp of the cage. I think I'm just going to put them in the center and I do have a temp gun already

Yeah I'm not too sure how your thermostat works but temps are a big part in the health of the animal and making it as close to the natural environment as possible.
