Tegi has never really been an active tegu always preferring to hide in her hide box only coming out to catch some rays and water and then back to hiding and sleeping,
now with hibernation season she seems to not be coming out at all but she does move around in her hide box . she is active if i take her outside she wanders about for a couple hours then shes ready to go back in. should i leave her be and assume shes going to hibernate or should i offer her food if she comes out of the box? the whole hibernating thing is new to me and i i want to do her right..... she will wake up if i take the box out and rouse her but if i should leave her be then i will . I'm just not sure what i should do.

I would just leave her in her hidebox. From what I understand from reading on this site when they start to slow down, or even spend most of their time in their hide they're trying to hibernate. But I could be way off as I don't have one of these beautiful creatures yet.

I wouldnt remove her from her hide. IF shes inside she will slow down even if the temps are kept warm in her cage. you can offer food but she will probably not eat as often as she did during the early-mid summer.full hybernation is different because the temps. are much lower and feeding is not required or recomended.
