So I was just wondering if this is a common thing, my tegu wakes up around 4-4:30 every morning. This is when she is the most active, no lights are on, there is a ceramic heat lamp on all the time but other then that its dark and not too warm. She runs around her cage, smashing the top pretty much till its really time to wake up and put lights on around 6:30. I go to work at 7 so I am not sure when she goes back to sleep and she sometimes will get up later in the day, but for the most part that is when she is awake.

P.S. her enclosure is 2 feet from my bed, so its not too fun.

How old is your tegu? Is it possible to have the lights come on earlier? When guru was younger he would come out at random times, sometimes the middle of the night, and try roaming around. I never changed his cycle much, I have it flipped for my schedule so his night time is our day time.
When do you feed your tegu? How long are the cycles? Maybe she's getting hungry.

I was wondering this same thing. My tegu would come out around 5am and be back to sleep for the rest of the day by 12pm. It made feeding a real pain because I have school or work with in the mornings

we do feed her at around 6:30am because that is when she is up, but it is a real pain having to feed her before going to work. And she gives you the hungry look and I feel guilty waiting till later and having to wake her up.
