Ok so there is a reptile show in town in 3 months and I have an empty exo-terra 18"12"x18" (i think), and was trying to think of something cool but not too expensive to maintain. I'm really just looking for some ideas, that way I can research a few of your thoughts and get ready for whatever I decide on (I have plenty of time =D ).

Something that isn't generally aggressive, and something that doesn't require hard to come back food. Also no snakes...other than that I would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Is it generally pretty easy to get them use to being held? Or do they not like it usually?

Diet very similar to something like a leopard gecko?

Diet of crickets, mealworms occasionally, roaches, and baby food. Not something you want to hold seeing as they don't like it, jump rapidly and drop their tails quite often. Get some anoles and house geckos, plant a few plants in it and watch them interact. It's actually pretty cool.

Anoles and geckos Would be cool with some plants. It would be like a little piece of florida in your house.

I'd go with a crestie or two. They're entertaining little geckos and super easy to care for. They are pretty fast and like to jump so you have to be careful you dont lose them while having them out. Not too fond of being held, but from my experience they do calm down a bit once used to you. I used to have two of them. My female hated being handled, but my male would sit on my chest while I watched tv, or latch on my shirt and just hang out. They normally do well in room temperature, and you can buy repashy crested gecko diet, balance that out with some crix and they are good to go!

I live in Florida...prefer to keep the outdoors where it already is

Plus from my experience anoles seem to require a lot of cleaning from when I use to work at a pet store.

I do like the Crested Gecko idea, I find it funny that everyone here says they do not like being held (which I believe you), yet this site ( http://www.pangeareptile.com/id52.htm ) says they "are among the most handleable of all lizards."

Either way I will look more into their care and see if that is something I want, or if i'll just go for something simple like colorful leos.
