excessively drinking water

Got my new guy about 4 days ago, he's just been flipping his water dis over -.-, and soaks he just tries to get out of (water is warm not cold). Today I filled his water dish up and he's been drinking for 10 min+ now. His urates were bright yellow when he went the other day. Is he trying to re hydrate or is there kidney issues ive been told. Any help, opinions are greatly appreciated.

is he a hatchling? how is the skin turgor on the sides of the abdomen? whats the humidity in cage? lights? have you changed them? temps? substrate? this should be second nature by now when posting a question LOL. Where did he come from?

Came from a guy in less then ideal husbandry. He is 4, humidity and temps are fine. He just drank an bunch of water. On cypress top soil mix
