My Argentine hasn't eaten for 2 weeks.. He still gets up and out of his burrow but wont eat... Is he going into hibernation?

Hoping mine starts to slow down soon, he wolfed down 4 hoppers and half an egg today!

Have you noticed any change in his schedule? My Tegu is also BARELY eating, but he's also only active for maybe 5 hours of the day. Earlier he was up about as long as I am (~17 hours)

Hah! I know how you feel...

Hibernation can truly be a blessing--you save on food, electricity, bulbs, substrate, etc...(not to mention cage maintenance)

Although, I truly wouldn't mind if Aesop didn't hibernate. Either way, I feel like I win--I either save a fair amount of money OR I get to hang out with my tegu all winter. Can't complain there!

My young adult male is also slowing down A LOT. He comes out of his hide 1 out of 2~3 days but eats like a pig when he does (odd). I hear him moving around in there so I know he's now asleep all day.

I know the feeling, my big guy was eating .25~.5 lbs (125~225 grams) of food a day for most of the summer :p But I've learned to be an ecconomical shopper for him ;)

Personally, I'd rather have the expense than have my Tegu hibernate, but (obviously) it's not up to me...

I have noticed with my female she has slowed down too. Just in the last 2 wks she isnt eating that much and she isnt staying awake all that much either maybe 5 hours. Her lights are still 12/12. my male on the other hand has slowed down at all, his eating has doubled and is very active to say the least. I so dont want either of them to sleep. I would be lost what to do during the day. Yes i know it would cut down on power and food bill, but I dont mind the cost of them
