Extreme Giant indoor enclosure? (new guy)

Hi, I'm new here!

And I would like to know if anyone here could tell me or send me blueprints or something on how to build my tegu (i'm getting him in a few months) a cage that would be big enough and sturdy enough to hold quite a bit of weight. I'm thinking the giant would need an 8x4x4, (extra foot tall for a foot of bedding to burrow) I'm in an apartment complex and outdoor is not an option :'-(. Thanks in advance!

Also, Would a 5x1.5x2 (ft) storage bin be okay for a little? Could I get a time frame as well for how long? Just so I know when I need to finish his forever cage. :-D

Things i'd need to know are..........

Type of wood to use, stains/finishes to avoid, stuff like that. I kind of have an idea but i thought i'd ask the tegu experts! Thanks!

If you're wanting it to support a good deal of weight, then go for whatever .75" wood is cheapest and brace/build rafters for it with 2x4's. And I've heard good things about Drylock for sealing the wood.

I used Drylock on my beardie enclosures and it's been great so far. I would recommend a relatively dark color though. I did one enclosure in gray, and the other and white. The one that lived in the white one was always hiding until I repainted the inside gray. Now shes fine in there...Not sure if that would affect a tegu the same as it would a beardie, but the info can't hurt.

And that storage has enough room. It sounds like it could work if it's set up right. I'm keeping my B/W in a 30 long for a few months until it gets used to me and I get a new enclosure built.

This should help, keep in mind you can build it 4x8, it will just give you something to go by:
