Falling asleep

My baby fights like the devil when I get her out. She’s trashing and huffing and putting up a big fuss but as soon as I place her in the crook of my arm and start rocking her she’s falls asleep and is out for awhile. Does anyone else have a tegu that does this? She’ll huff at me when I pet her while she’s sleeping too.

Most tegus dont like being picked up. Best way I have found is to place front legs onto 1 hand and then with second hand lift at base of tail and put back legs on that hand and firmly hold n move. The huffing I only get when I dig her out of her moss but a few good strokes n she stops. Did this alot when I first started trying to touch it. Over the months it has stopped almost all together. You may be touching it in a spot it doesnt want u to. Mine is picky I can touch w.e but only at certain times. But front feet are always off limits lol
